Description
This is a student project by Marcos Rodriguez for ARCH 844 in Autumn 2010. Incubation is using the capabilities of high crime impoverished areas to increase economic and social activity. By instigating conversation and encouraging entrepreneurial activity, Weinland Park can shed its negative stigma. Incubation is about involving residents and allowing them to collaborate and bring about change rather than wait for government assistance. Engagement of the neighborhood was achieved by a series of live interviews and design clinics with residents. The result was the 3 Studio Exhibit in Weinland Park's community center. This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present. The effort to preserve and digitize drawings in the Student Archives was sponsored in part by the Graham Foundation.
