Description
This project reuses the existing 3M building because of its significance to the development and identity of Weinland Park. The potential still exists within these structures, whether it is at the scale of the 3M site or the abundance of vacant lots and homes in Weinland Park. The project creates a dialogue between the high-tech farming and the factory. I intend to use the 3M site to create jobs in a high production hydroponic system while still having community demo gardens that will provide models for the community to reuse on their own plots of land. The project focuses creating a new typology of a social gathering space through a pedestrian street activated by local shops and urban gardens along with a community center and amphitheater.
