Description
This is a student project by Patrick Herron in Autumn 2010. In an ever growing consumer society full of fast food and 'corn-sugared' ingredients, Americans have completely separated themselves from the source of their food. By creating a new cultural realm centered on agriculture, the public is able to take part in the process of making food in an effort to revitalize people's connection to the earth. [AGRI] CULTURE offers a center of cultural experiences that place crops and their maintenance as precedents over popular culture events. The space therefore allows for a multitude of activities to occur both during the day and at night which will allow for the north market to become a new cultural center for Columbus. This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present. The effort to preserve and digitize drawings in the Student Archives was sponsored in part by the Graham Foundation.
