Description
As part of the Columbus 2050 Initiative, it was important that ULI Columbus understand the policies that had been proposed in Central Ohio planning documents. This information was vital for understanding the voice of the region. However, the only way to accomplish this monumental task was for a group of researchers to scour all available planning documents for the region. In August of 2010, the Columbus Chapter of the Urban Land Institute initiated discussion with the City and Regional Planning Program at The Ohio State University. They asked for a class of students to gather the data and information for them. This class was composed of 19 undergraduate city and regional planning majors who were enrolled in a service-learning studio course, They have a variety of planning interests as well as a range of backgrounds and skills. Every student contributed his or her expertise to this project.
