This was a student project by Mizuki Coronado for Sarah Hirschman's course ARCH 2410 in Autumn 2017. The client is building the Recovery Care Center to start a business. The Recovery Care Center will provide a variety of destress or meditational programs to support people who suffer by stress or emotional issues. The main precedent is N house by Sou Fujimoto and the idea of creating ambiguity spaces by layering cubes. The trapezoid perimeter also adds variation for the spaces. The idea of ambiguity spaces are utilized in the entrance and bathing buildings. Trapezoid spaces are used throughout the projects and the whole organization. The active programs such as lobby, kitchen, and classroom are placed at the top of the hill. As it gets lower the hill, the programs become more calm and privates such as meditation room, gazebo for yoga, and quiet room. The progressive programs articulates processes of rehabilitation/recovery. As you go down to the hill, the view focus nature instead of other buildings. The materials of bathing outer layer are glass with wood columns. It is like the continue forest feeling with sun lights from the wood columns. The quiet area has a big waived couch where guests can take nap or read books with a wide grass screen in front.~root~>
