Description
This was a student project by Nathan Mosure for Stephen Turk's course ARCH 8420 in Spring 2019. Earthly Matters was designed using the same edge detecting and pixel stitching technology google earth provides. Its form derived from an interrogation of what spatial implications lie between raster and vector imagery. Walls, planes, and building components melt into and out of the surrounding landscape, forming a post-human architecture of speculative realism. In a world transformed by the Anthropocene, Earthly Matters represents a new style of architecture who's denatured ground and melted form blur together, redefining what the discipline previously defined as ground. - Nathan Mosure
