Description
Located in Queensland, Australia's Sunshine Coast, which is on Australia's north central pacific coastline. The climate is sub-tropical according to information I gathered on the region though "Ten Shades" says that it is Tropical. It is relatively wet during the summer and fairly dry during the winter months.
Clare Design were the architects for the project, they were a local design firm, who have since relocated to Sydney. Lindsey Clare, one of the principals, taught at a local architecture program and had his students collect data on the site and do studies regarding the proposed development as a preliminary way to approach this project.
The local government desired to do a project, which addressed the need for better development in the area, both in regards to aesthetics, sustainability and the diversity of the population.
The following slides will individually address each of the ten shades that this project accommodates into it program. The shades that it accommodates are, low energy/high performance, long life loose fit, embedded in place, health & happiness and community & connection.
