This landscape is designed to invite native species of plants and animals back into the downtown area of Akron, Ohio. To achieve this the edges between vegetation is intertwined to encourage the movement into and between different areas of the landscape. As time passes, the edges between the landscape of the innerbelt and the downtown blurs as elements of the new innerbelt are pulled into the surrounding area. The meadow condition is pulled into already existing greenspace while the forest takes the form of new urban parks and the wetland translates into the implementation of bioswales and rain gardens in the downtown.~root~>
