Our landscapes are engraved with human intention, will, and dominance. This garrulous chatter of human action leaves these places with little room to join the conversation. What little whispers the land can muster are either hacked back, poisoned, or ignored. With this reality in mind maintenance needs to be reimagined and rethought. Care of our landscapes should not be constrained to preserving an aesthetic or functional still shot but instead might resemble a conversation. A conversation where the soil has the agency to speak and land custodian has a chance to listen then engage and promote a diverse heterogeneity to take shape.~root~>
