Description
Many people of color who struggle with food insecurity/inequity struggle with managing meal preparation and food sovereignty. From my research, I saw an excellent opportunity to use the economic wealth in the community to fund a greater mission of socializing diverse economic & cultural networks within a breathing story-based food ecosystem. The Soul Building. This refers to many aspects of my project, a few examples being its a reference to the breathing adaptable architecture, the Soul of the people's stories we are telling, and Soul as a reference to the origins of the Black American diet: Soul Food. The project takes on a resourceful typology of inflation to guide its space. Inflation allows for a democratization of space based on need/resources. This adaptability also allows us to recreate our impact within other communities as we travel with minimal resources and grow based on their needs.
