This tower explores the idea of work and play through a series of shifts and moves distorting the traditional work-only-office-tower. This unique coworking space has increased moments of play through energetic programmatic interruptions and extensive outdoor space, a distortion of a standard tower grid, and a more expansive and connected section. This allows a playful office tower to be created. The form strives to break the traditional and distort the ordinary with a series of simple steps: the rock, paper, and scissors. The idea of combining work and play is reinforced on all scales of the project beginning with the overall programmatic organization having moments of “play” or non-traditional office environments that interrupt long series of work spaces. Continuing this idea, there is a malleable skin warping over these interruptions connecting them to the whole and creating a distorted image. On the immediate scale, the formation of coworking neighborhoods and an increased connection to the public on the lowest tier of the tower finishes the game between work and play.~root~>
