Description
This project focused on the improvement of canopy tree coverage within Parsons Avenue. Through analysis and research, and in-person interviews, my project evolved to be about the assets that are currently in place. The project is a multifaced addition of tree canopy coverage and multiuse spaces known as third spaces within the community. Parsons Avenue's reconstruction includes replacing an underused parcel with a pocket park and adjacent commercial and residential buildings. Highlights include a 40% improvement of permeable surfaces and a 50% tree canopy coverage within ten years. Most notably is the addition of a landscape job training program and a tree seedling plot which will add jobs and bring the community together in multiple ways.
