The primary design of the building as an addition to the pre existing Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany, focuses on how Vitra as a company values the process of design. The main programs are separated as pavilions that are highly stylized and idiosyncratic in form. Vitra as a company not only collects furniture, but also collects buildings. Hence as to why the various forms differ from one another. These pavilions are organized along a central elevated pathway, providing a unique visiting experience and working environment. As a way to unify the different forms, the ground plain is undulated at various points, with the path serving as the main form of circulation both above and below ground.
