Description
This design is an exploration of structures with smooth and striated contrast as well as point plane circulation. The smooth and striated elements are exemplified through the blend of material of the striated cardboard and smooth paper surface (accomplished through ripping the material layers apart) as well as the angulated striated pathways throughout the ground. The volume highlights point plane through the legs and three dimensional triangles stretching out to the different heights in order to allow circulation to the inverted geometric spaces within the structure. When synthesizing the two models, I generated the geometry of the elevated volume to fit into the ground model to create circulation between the heights and the spaces within the elevated volume; this allowed for the two structures to work together with strategic geometry.
