Description
This student project by Antoinette DelVillano, Benjamin Flaute, Sean Zielinski was produced Winter 2012 in Robert Livesey's ARCH 842 class. Camouflaged Courtyards was designed under the theme of protector to provide a safe and insular environment for a Habitat for Humanity prototype house. Building mass was derived from the typical square footage of the surrounding duplex homes. Square footage was removed from the footprint to meet typical Habitat for Humanity program requirements. The resulting voids became programmed exterior spaces allowing the house to appear larger and more protected than a typical single family house. --Antoinette DelVillano, Benjamin Flaute, Sean Zielinski
