Columbus ReWired

Description: This exhibition in the Banvard Gallery at Austin E. Knowlton Hall was on display from October 22, 2007 through Thursday, January 3, 2008. Columbus Re-Wired was a design competition seeking a wide array of creative proposals in the realm of urban design and architecture in order to initiate a dialogue about the current and future state of Columbus's public transportation network in the context of its overall infrastructure. The competitors were being asked to think critically and respond to general conditions and potentials vis-Ã -vis a speculative reading of 1) Columbus's transportation and infrastructural networks and 2) a design implementation using one of three sites. Three prototypical sites were offered by the planning committee based upon typologies of place, and entrants were asked to analyze the development context of Columbus at the scales of the region, the city, and the neighborhoods.
