The focus of this project is the central courtyard where the community garden and the farmer's market is located. Through the gradual change from the form of the urban grid to an organic triangulation, the courtyard is staged as though a hole is dug in middle of the city where an oasis is found deep beneath. The project also exaggerates the idea of transparency that whole foods (the client) posses. The double transparent skin allows consumers to see into service areas and understand where their food comes from and how it is prepared, yet still providing a barrier for security purposes. -- brian lee
