Monuments to the dead are plentiful throughout architectural and cultural history. The various iterations of this architectural type house individual and collective memories of the inhabitants and visitors. The mausoleum is imbued with symbolic, utilitarian, and ceremonial aspects that contribute to various ways of observing and remembering the dead. This project explores past tendencies for dealing with these topics and will suggest proposals for addressing the issue today. The program is a mix of privately allocated spaces and public_accessly shared spaces.
