Description
Farm House No. 1 is Herrick Archives number 986 and is located at 2298 North Star Avenue on the Ohio State University campus. This building was not officially named by the Board of Trustees. In addition to the house, this property included a fruit stand (A) at the edge of North Star Avenue and five other buildings as shown in the sketch. The buildings were on the property when purchased. The property was acquired by the university by warranty deed executed October 16, 1962 by John S. Warner, William Arthur Miller and Patricia Ann Miller. The Board of trustees on April 8, 1968 approved demolition of all buildings on the property except the residence. However one outbuilding was still standing, either the west end of B or another building not shown. The remaining buildings were demolished in April 1980.
