Description
As an extended design charrette, this project is less concerned with the details of the individual housing units and more concerned with how these similar elements come together to make a new entity that fits within an urban context while suggesting possibilities for new modes of multi-family housing. The project will be developed at 1/16â€=1’-0â€, indicating a preference to convey the qualities of the project primarily as a massing study, though the features that the massing enables ought to be highlighted in the final proposal as well. The goal of this project is to explore the possibilities for making a mid- to high-rise housing complex while accounting for some of the elements that make this type of project unique (i.e. meeting the ground in an urban context, shared vertical circulation, aggregation of like modules, etc.). It is suggested that the project meet these conditions in a manner that is pragmatic and/or speculative.
