Description
This was a student project by Christos Gersos for Raffaella Fabiani Giannetto's LARCH 253 course, Winter 2007. The project required a Center for Freedom of Speech to be located at the North face of the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library. Students were asked to interpret the notion of freedom of speech through imagery and text examples. Those examples were then used to create study models that illustrate the concepts developed in the initial interpretation. The study models were developed into a design concept that reflected the interpretive investigation. The program required inclusion of a structure for the Center for Freedom of Speech, a plaza with overhead coverage, two outdoor classrooms, and a unconventional platform for expression. -- Christos Gersos This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present.
