Description
This was a student project by Nathan Wendling, Spring 2006 for Lisa Tilder's ARCH 844 course. The competition is located in the historic south end of the Boston Center for the Arts. The purpose behind the competition was to revitalize the urban square by bringing people into the site to experience the internal activity. Contextual studies were done to explore programmatic hub locations on the block. External music, dining, theatre, and studio art hubs are located adjacent to internal programmatic events. The hubs are housed by a canopy system consisting of various materials. The canopy allows for directional circulation to the hubs, sunshading and acoustics. --Nathan Wendling This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present. This effort was sponsored in part by the Graham Foundation.
