Description
This was a student project by Brad Moore and Wesley Hammer for Jason Kentner's LARCH 624 course, Autumn 2006. The intervention placed in Highbanks Metro park was conceived and built on-site and inspired by characteristics of the site, itself. Observation of the play of light and color in the forest canopy and of the difference of color between the canopy and the forest floor led to an investigation of these properties given different conditions. Light conditions, layering, leaf type and color, and overall environment were all observed. By manipulating these conditions, a ribbon of color and canopy was created which challenged the observer to consider the existence of these conditions and evaluate their existence. -- Brad Moore and Wesley Hammer
