- Description
- This exhibition titled James Corner: Field Operations was located in the Banvard Gallery on the main level of Knowlton Hall from January 9 through February 17 2006. The Field Operations gallery exhibit features digital renderings of two recent winning proposals - the Lifescape master plan for an ecologically diverse, culturally activated park landscape to be implemented over decades at the closed Fresh Kills landfill in Staten Island, New York, and the High Line park, an elevated public space that re-envisions the role of abandoned urban infrastructure as an armature for new kinds of nature and social interaction. The show also includes design development drawings for several other current Field Operations projects. A registered landscape architect and urban designer, Corner is Founder and Director of Field Operations. He is also Chair and Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Design.~root~>
