Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium

This structure is located at 2450 Fred Taylor Drive on The Ohio State University campus. The premise was to construct a soccer stadium and replacement facility for the Jesse Owens Track that was relocated due to the Ohio Stadium Renovation. The Board of Trustees officially named the building Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on May 4, 2001. Jesse Owens, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, attended the Ohio State University and had a stellar collegiate track career. He won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games. He became an international hero and a spokesperson for youth groups, community programs, and global issues.
