This is a student project by Mengqing Chen for ARCH 242 in Winter 2011. This is a house for an actor who is looking for a house of dramatic and theatrical ambience. To meet the requirement, the house is designed as a series of dramatically lit stages. The duplex is a large single enclosed volume in which the 2 units and continuous communal space interlock with each other, creating a seemingly disjointed space. Interplaying with the choreography of light, these fragments of time and space are linked. This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present. The effort to preserve and digitize drawings in the Student Archives was sponsored in part by the Graham Foundation.~root~>
