This final project is about developing a series of architectural volumes/buildings that can be supported by the previous site/landscape program, including 3 pools, lounge area, and changing rooms. In my design, I have a central idea- “3 chimeras†which represents a beautiful combination of different elements. In details, first, I render the site to make the chimeras surrounded by water. Then I create 3 different kinds of pool (diving pool, swimming pool, and knee-deep pool), combine them with movie theaters/screens. For example, here is one large movie theater combined with diving pool, so that people can enjoy a movie and a diving scene in the same view; another one is the swimming pool faces to a movie screen, so swimmers are able to watch a movie when they are swimming. Beside the pools, two fully-enclosed changing rooms are rendered under the lounge area. The soft cape-dense tall grass is another important element in my design. By using tall grass, I try to dominate sensation to give people a different experience. For instance, at many points of the path, you may be able to hear sound very close but can’t really see anyone. A very good idea from a reviewer is that tall grass can also be used as movie screen. In a word, this leisure space provides experience for relax via water, grass, and movie; harmonizes the environment in a special way.
