This was a student project by Young Joon Chung for Bart Overly's ARCH 241 course, Autumn 2007. I started this project by analyzing 15 frames of figure skating video. I first captured the placement of the arms and legs, and their hands and feet. And started to trace those into dots and flattened them. I made several models based on these diagrams. After building series of study models, I figured there are some notational system that I can perfectly adapt into this project, I choose 'dart' notation by placing the diagrams into the dart board and score them one by one. And for the final model, I wanted to present the notion of intensity into it. I decided to use cotton as a material for the model to show the intensity clearly. So the higher score the each frame gets, the more tension the cotton stretches. - Young Joon Chung This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present. The effort to preserve and digitize drawings in the Student Archives was sponsored in part by the Graham Foundation.~root~>
