- Description
- This was an undergraduate student project by John Durda for Andrew Kudless' ARCH 341 course, Autumn 2005. Addressed in this project is the reconnection of the Marigny District community to the Mississippi River. Through the use of a public green space spine, the idea was to create a path to traverse over the floodwall and onto the levee. Drawing on themes from the wall project at the beginning of the quarter, a modular apartment unit was developed, varied, and repeated. Structure and interstitial walls were determined through the use of controlling geometry- a circle whose center falls on the flood wall. Each module contains two interlocking units, with each having access to a private green space. - John Durda Keywords: student work, KSA, project models, residential structure, housing, houses, house, multiple dwellings, multifamily housing, multi-unit housing.~root~>
