Spring 2014
Description
Livin' in Luxury: The spring semester of a vertical junior/senior studio tests a student’s growing abilities in techniques, material assemblies, and organizations through multiple, extra-large-scale, hybrid programs on complex sites. Specifically in this studio, the problem is to design residential colleges with all the ancillary facilities for 6400 students in the North Residential District on The Ohio State University campus. Working at master plan and building scales, the overriding theme of the studio is organization: organization of the research, organization of the site, organization of the program, organization of building components and materials, etc. Multiple and overlapping organizational strategies are encouraged.
