The primary interest of this project was how to exploit the ideas of performance and customization to create an architecture that is responsive to the needs of the user and allows for customizable spacial conditions. This interest stemmed from both a glaring fallacy and a strength which are inherent to the building, the use of space. Often a building sits empty, static, only used during certain periods of time, but a building is also a successful manager of the type of space required of it when in use. So why not promote an architecture that can take advantage of the strength of the building while also utilizing its inherent fallacy to derive an inherent advantage? The accumulation of a mass produced modular pistoned unit into a planar building element sets up possibilities that can be taken advantage of in the search for a performative, customizable architecture. The spaces and conditions created can tailor themselves to the specific uses required of the building during a short period of time and allows for the building to respond to long term needs.~root~>
