Relayering Weinland

Description: Relayering Weinland Park comes out of respecting the layer organization within a typical housing in the neighborhood. Each layer is brought onto the project in a wrapping manner and then reconfigured. The reconfiguration is intended to maximize the functionality of each program as well as to promote the creation of dynamic and interesting spaces. The gardener housing is a new typology to encourage people of Weinland Park to engage in gardening and to live surrounded by nature. The storm water runoff and treated sewage water from the housing will be collected in the central pond which then will be pumped back up to the main water tank that will supply all the irrigation for the terraced gardens. Relayering Weinland is the combination between highly complex intertwined buildings as well as sustainable green area which I believe will become great commodity for the people living in Weinland Park area.
