Description
Royer Commons is located at 85 Curl Drive on the Ohio State University campus. It is shown here as Herrick Archives Building Number 183. This structure was originally built as the Men's Housing 1 & 2 Dining Facility. W.E. Linch, University Architect, prepared the plans and related documents, and the general contractor was Sheaf Construction Co. The building opened for use in September 1963. From its opening, this building has been used as a coeducational dining and study hall facility and part of it also has served as a maintenance shop. In December 1973, the Board of Trustees changed the name of this building to Royer Student Activities Center.
