This is a student project by Mengqing Chen for ARCH 242 in Autumn 2010. The project is to design a shoe store facade.The client is a young entrepreneur and he eagers to open a shoe store on the ground floor of an existing building. The building is located on the corner of High Street, a major urban thoroughfare, and a pedestrian alley. The alley links High Street to trendy restaurants with sidewalk seating along the alley. Upstairs is a popular tango bar. The street is a typical urban block with other retail on the ground level. Your client is interested in your ideas of street engagement. This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University by Mengqing Chen. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present.
