Description
This was a student project by Tom Pompeani for Beth Blostein's ARCH 241 course, Autumn 2008. This shoe store is proposed for the North High Street location due to the large amount of foot traffic there. The store will sell sneakers made popular by hip hop culture and other shoes geared toward those obsessed with sneaker culture. The store's wood paneling design was heavily influenced by the idea of the half pipe and other types of skateboarding ramps. Small glass boxes are embedded within the structure and will serve as display cases for vintage and high-end designer sneakers which will most likely not be purchased on a day-to-day basis. Other more affordable shoes will be placed on undulating wood panels that bend off the walls and will act as shelves. - Tom Pompeani This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present. Keywords: student work, KSA.
