This was an undergraduate student project by Hillary Bretcko for Mark Ours's ARCH 241 course, Autumn 2004. The goal of this project was to create a psychologist's office through the contrast and combination of two spaces, one static and the other dynamic. These spaces were made in terms of the concept, which was drama. Light use became crucial in the scheme. The patient area is set up as a stage with bright light streaming in through a skylight created by the shift of the roof plane, in contrast to the subtle, diffused light that marks the path into the office portion, and the darkness of the office itself. The project implies an inverse relationship of doctor and patient. -- Hillary Bretcko Keywords: dynamic, student work, KSA, commercial structures, office buildings.~root~>
