Description
This was a student project by Chris Randolph, Corinne Knight, Scott McLemore, Tim Kaskewsky, and Tim Bauer for Isabella Gould's ARCH 243 course, Spring 2008. The purpose for the installation was to influence the site in some way; causing a person to change route, altering the way a person feels about the space, or changing the atmosphere of the site. The concept behind Space Yeti started with exploring spikes. The spikes began to overlap and became scales, creating a skin. The Space Yeti seems to emerge out of the concrete and overtake one of the partitions with this spiky skin. The design employs red and blue lights, which form together to create a collage of pinks, purples, and blues.-- Chris Randolph
