- This was a student project by Cody Campbell and Deana Sritalapat, Spring 2006 for Michael Cadwell's ARCH 243. The technique we used to convey and interpret our combined dances involved using metal conduit, stretch satin fabric, and hose clamps for connections. The welded conduit wire frame combines the essence of both dances through the lightweight properties and appearance of the material. Location of the installation was informed by our needs pertaining to function, circulation, and light qualities. The skin was a compromise between the two projects utilizing stretchablity and quality of light. The material connections were established through hose clamps and the frame was left unfinished combining to reveal a mild contrast between the raw industrial frame and the elegance of the red satin. Due to the properties of the fabric and the bracing technique within the frame, the model was wrapped in individual ribbon-like pieces. Continuity can be found within the differences of texture between the two sides of the fabric as the model twists on itself and distorts the definite interior and exterior space. --Cody Campbell and Deana Sritalapat This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University.
