The project is based on the inspiration of creating reading rooms on campus for use by the students and faculty members here at The Ohio State University. The reading rooms would be located outside the SEL Library between 18th and 17th avenue. The concept is a sinuous wall that bends to define space and give new meaning to a spatial experience within. The structure is made of concrete and can seem very bold due to its massive size. To break this, voids were placed within the structure to break it apart and allow people to see outside the site. There are three main areas, which are public, semi-public, and private. Depending on the areas the rooms are designed in a specific way. The Private spaces are geared towards being a quite space where one to two people per room. The semi-public are rooms that are either small or large. The public areas are based around the cafe area where the rooms are rather large allowing for larger groups to be together and not worry about noise. All rooms are facing inside the site to allow the white noise of the surrounding site such as car traffic to be reduced to allow each student to reach their full potential.~root~>
