Description
This was a student project by Joannah Dupiano for Paula Meijerink and Karla Trott's LARCH 2920 course in Autumn 2018.
"For this project, we visited two sites— Walnut Woods, an old overgrown nursery, and parking lots near downtown Columbus. The goal of the project was to reforest the parking lot we had chosen using tree stands from Walnut Woods while also creating a space for people to enjoy. In my design, I created a noise gradient through program and vegetation. Using a noise barrier that also acts as a seating structure, noise is blocked from the plaza area. The tree stands are used to visually block out the "noise" of the busy roads surrounding the site."
