Description
The Audubon Park design framework speculates how a neighborhood park can be adapted in order to balance infrastructural, ecological, and recreational needs. As climate change intensifies and patterns of increased rainfall continue in Columbus, versatile amenities can position the city to better handle the increased pressure on its infrastructure. By sinking the park 6’ to 12’ below street level, the site doubles as a reservoir during periods of heavy rainfall. The flexible design allows for ample stormwater retention while still maintaining access to the park’s core amenities.
