Description
This is a student project by Brett Kordenbrock from Autumn 2010. "How Green is Columbus? This new park features a wedge of lawn area which acts as a viewing area for films being shown on a jumbo-tron on a neighboring building. The wedge also houses a locker facility (below) and climbing wall (at the rear). The parks play and treatment of water is crucial to the experiential qualities targeted in the design. Boardwalks submerge the visitors within the excavated portions of the site (due to soil contamination). Water is channeled through wetlands at which point a cistern will collect stormwater only when a certain level of water cannot be contained by the natural system itself. An on-site outfitter helps manage the park as well as educate visitors about its history. The outfitter also provides training/lessons." --Brett Kordenbrock This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University. It is part of an effort to make accessible student work ranging from the first student that graduated from the program in 1903 to the present.
