Description
The Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympic games hosted the track and field competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. It is located next to the Beijing National Aquatics Centre. The innovative structure has been nicknamed the "Bird's Nest" due to the web of twisting steel sections that form the exterior surfaces.
