COSI opened to the public on March 29, 1964 by the Franklin County Historical Society, a private, not-for-profit Ohio corporation. By 1999, COSI had out-grown the original space and opened a new 320,000 square foot facility in downtown Columbus designed by internationally renowned architect Arata Isozaki. - http://www.cosi.org/about/index.html
