Description
This view shows the front of the Finnish embassy as seen from Massachusetts Avenue. The bronze trellis standing in front of the building provides a structure for plants and vines to grow on. The facade behind the trellis is constructed of glass panes and glass block. The vegetation on the trellis filters sunlight and provides shade cooling the interior. The vegetation shows seasonal change and is trimmed occasionally to allow clear views outward. The bronze patina shows aging of the trellis through a natural process.
