Description
This is the home of Mahlon N. Haines (1875-1962), who billed himself as "Haines the Shoe Wizard". Haines established a chain of shoe stores in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In 1948 he commissioned a house shaped like a high-top boot. It was designed by Frederick J. Rempp and built by R.S. Noonan Inc. It was framed in wood and covered with wire lath and stucco.
