Description
The Health Sciences Library is shown here as Herrick Archives Number 302. It is located at 376 West 10th Avenue on The Ohio State University. The building architect was C. Curtis Inscho & Associates, and the general contractor was Robert W Setterlin & Sons Co. The building has a basement and five stories, and is a reinforced concrete frame with brick exterior. The library, also initially known as the Health Science or Medical Library, was opened for student use on May 14, 1973. On September 1, 1988, The Board of Trustees resolved that the Health Sciences Library should be named "John A. Prior Health Sciences Library". Dr. Prior served as Faculty, Dean, and Professor Emeritus until he retired in 1981. He helped make the Health Sciences Library possible.
