Independence Square is a part of the The Independence National Historic Park complex, which also includes Independence Hall, National Constitution Center, Independence Visitor Center, Liberty Bell Center, Congress Hall, and Old City Hall.
"The design inherent within the Master Plan integrates the contemporary, near past and the historic fabric of Philadelphia into a successful ensemble of new vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns; new buildings; and new open spaces which serve a contemporary and future international public. Currently, a new pavilion for the Liberty Bell, the Independence National Historical Park Visitor's Center and the National Constitution Center has been built. Olin Partnership has completed the landscape architectural design and documentation for all three blocks; parts of which have been constructed over parking structures." --http://www.olinptr.com/project_current_parks2.html
