Description
This structure served as the royal stables from 1586-1591. The facade pictured here is Renaissance in style. Sgraffito decorates the facade. From 1729-1931 the complex was rebuilt to house the royal art collection. Another addition was made in 1744 to accommodate the growing collection. The Johanneum was destroyed in World War II in 1945.
