Description

This 180,000 square-foot structure houses the home office for The Longaberger Company. It is situated on 25 acres at 1500 East Main Street, Newark, Ohio. The offices are situated around a seven-story, 30,000 sq. ft atrium with a skylight. The design is 160 times larger than Longaberger's Medium Market Basket.
This building is an example of 'architecture parlante', which translates to English as "speaking architecture". It is "an architectural theory popular in Revolutionary France which linked the formal development and ornamentation of a building to the expression and representation of its function."
